During a public address, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee raised concerns over the scorching temperatures and extended election period, stating, "today the temperature here is 44 degrees. Have to come and go due to heat wave. I have never seen elections going on for three months before." She expressed distress over the toll of violence during the elections, lamenting the loss of a Zilla Parishad candidate. Mamata remarked, "How many people are dying in elections? This intense violence resulted in the death of one of our Zilla Parishad candidates. When our people are dying then ED or CBI is not coming."
In a sharp rebuke to the BJP, Banerjee emphasized that the Trinamool Congress-led government prioritizes public welfare over political rhetoric, stating, "BJP, which threatens people in every conversation, should know that they will never come to power again. We are giving free ration and they are giving free speeches."
